I kind of picked this back up by chance... I was looking through the psd files in my Edward folder and just happened across what had been the start of this (it was poor, let me tell you Dx). I thought to myself, TODAY IS THE DAY. And two days later, Umdone!

I'm very pleased with how this came out-- it's very different for me, and certainly different than many fanarts of Edward. Most are very cheery and innocent; though the movie portrayed a somewhat darker Edward in its promos and posters. I kind of went for that look.

As for his skin; I tried for a marbly look. I studied some photos of Bernini's David (swoon): [link]
to try and get the right effect. Thank goodness ~dreor was there to help me; or he would still look like a mud golem: [link] :worship: (She saves mah butt so much >.<;)

So well... I don't have anything more to say, I guess. I've been wanting to give this special piece a life of its own; to step out of the box a bit on the coloring and I think I've done that pretty successfully. And lastly, I hope you guys like it.

I love how you keep the sketch and color over it. It doesn't subtract from the piece at all. =3

Thanks, I really like the lines, so I didn't want to get rid of them-- in fact, the original scan gave a kind of watercolory look after it was painted, which is fortunate. c:

Nice! Now Cerdic had become Edward :) Seems like the actor often gets these sexy handsome roles

I do, too- if it's too polished like an illustration, then it's so much less natural!

You know you're good when you're able to get your digital work to look like traditional work ;3

Naw, I don't see Robert Pattinson as Edward, but I'm sure some people do-- I've come to appreciate him as a single Edward, out of millions.
Personally, I see Edward similar to the model Jeremy Dufour.

This is perfect. I love how you've done the color and style of his hair!
:iconwieldthekey:
Thank you very much! It just came together after a while-- and hair is one of the most fun things to paint ;)

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEK I'm so glad that you colored this! I think this original Edward piece was one of the reasons I began watching you in the first place. This will always be how I imagine Edward in my head...

This is pretty darn awesome

Oh my goodness. I had no idea that it's been well over a year since I drew this. :faint: I just can't believe it. My life is slipping away!

Haha, but anyway, thank you. I am, too!
And I had no idea that so many people shared my Edward! ;)
